We arrived at the
Heathrow Airport at 8 AM.
We made our way through customs before trying to brave the tube (underground train).
We took the Piccadilly line from the airport to Rusell Square. We were amazed at how cute everything was from the cars, telephone booths, and shops. Instantly we noticed the cars are driving on the "wrong" side of the street.
We made our way to the Imperial Hotel where we checked in and our room was available. It wasn’t clean yet, but we just had to put our bags to the side. So, we made our way with a key and huge keychain to our room. We put our bags in the empty closet and couldn’t image having to carry this key around. When we came back downstairs we checked our key back in until we returned.
Lauren researched and found the hop on and hop off bus to be the best option for us.
That was indeed the greatest idea to see all the sites of
London.
We went by the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, Big Ben, London street bridge, Eye of London, and of course Buckingham Palace.
We saw the changing of the guards and workers getting ready for the
Queens 60
th celebration that was going to occur a few days after we left.
We found a pub to enjoy lunch, Shakespeare’s Pub where most of the individuals were enjoying the traditional dish of fish and chips.
That evening we had our first tour meeting where we got to meet several individuals in our tour.
After a few minutes of trying to be social we decided we have two weeks to talk with these individuals let’s head to dinner and bed.
We stopped at an Italian restaurant.
Heading back to the hotel we realized there wasn’t any AC, but how can that ruin two weeks in
Europe?
We were quickly asleep at 9:30 PM which was so late for us.
