Jordan recently accepted a part time holiday position in St. Louis at Coach. I was excited for her to come live with me! We decided to start this visit off a little different and went grocery shopping for HEALTHY food. It only took Jordy 52 minutes to purchase her first purse! We are excited for the holiday specials!

Auntie Sarie to the Rescue
Friday, October 28th-Sunday, October 30th
Chris and Rachel were heading on an overnight trip to watch the UNI Panthers in North Dakota. A babysitter was in need, so I couldn't wait for the chance to help out. I love my nephews like crazy. They are probably the cutest and most funny kids ever! (I know I'm pretty bias--but this is my blog!)
I took off work a little early on Friday and picked up the boys for their first surprise. I took them to the cupcake bakery, Scratch, where they could pick their own cupcake. We headed home to play, grabbed dinner, and took a quick bath just in time to watch the Cardinals win!
Thanks Ty and B for letting me visit! Love you both to pieces!

We started off Saturday with watching Ty's basketball practice, followed by our next surprise. We decided to go to a free petting zoo where we couldn't find any animals, but we did find a card table of pumpkins. It was best not to get out of the car. Next option, bounce house--closed. Third option--bowling was finally a success. After two games we worked up an appetite for Verona. We needed to take a rest so we headed home to watch a movie and play. We ended the evening with another favorite for the boys, Carlos O'Kelly, and bed.
Sunday came to fast, but we headed to church before I got to see the cute little sharks!

World Series Champions
Friday, October 28th concluded the party that has lasted for the past few months in St. Louis. At least it ended in favor of the good guys! Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals for a victory over the Texas Rangers in 7 games. The most exciting game was Game 6 where the Cardinals never stopped fighting. They were down 2 times in the game by 2 runs and at 2 different times a strike away from losing...but some how they dug deep and pulled out a victory. As the past few posts has mentioned, watching all the games is hard work for the fans. I'm going to look forward to next season, but I did need a few days off for a break.
Overall, here's why I have loved this experience
Overall, here's why I have loved this experience
- There was an energy around town that you just had to experience!
- It was a time to be outgoing and meet new people!
- I had a chance to visit new places that I'm sure I'll be visiting again soon!
- It kept me busy and something to always look forward to!
- Finally, one of my best friends from home came to Game 6, Brad!
- In the end, we were victorious and there was always a party!

My Own Bar Crawl
Friday, October 14, 2011
Can I stress again how much fun St. Louis can be when the Cardinals are winning? I've been having the time of my life! Once again, the Cardinals had a game on Friday night versus the Brewers and it was a HUGE game we needed to win! LeeAnn and I started the weekend off by looking at fun new places to check out. We started at Schlafly Bottleworks and soon found the crowd a little strange. We stayed for three innings before the decision was made to go .2 miles up the street to the sports bar,the Post. Making friends at this time of the year is easy. We soon found ourselves at a table of 4 girls, but it was right under the TV. The girls didn't stay long, so we eventually got to move back! I learned a lesson that night. You only live once, so sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone with men. It's always fun to meet new people, so I hope to someday have a success story about someone I meet.
Saturday I over promised myself with too many friends. I started the afternoon off with golf and it was an interesting round. There were 2 older gentleman that were playing in front of us and 3 younger guys behind Elizabeth and I walking the course. We couldn't play very fast because we had people in front of us the entire time. The guys behind us thought because we were girls and playing slow. The ranger came out and followed us for 3 holes. I was pretty upset and felt rushed to play. At hole 7, it was 143 yards from the tee box to the green. The older gentlemen were on the green and the ranger was yelling at us to hit because we couldn't hit that far. Sure enough, I think I got the luckiest I've ever been to hitting a hole in one. I drove the ball and it hit the flag and dropped a few inches away from the hole. After this shot the ranger couldn't stop apologizing and I laughed because the 3 guys were awestruck. Of course, I just walked off the tee box like that was normal! Saturday night I went to Old St. Charles to meet some friends before going to a house warming party, and then meeting up with LeeAnn.
On Sunday, Amanda and I signed up for a washers tournament except when we showed up there weren't any washers. We stayed for a few minutes before heading over to Bar 360. It's on top of the Hilton and you can see right into the stadium. It would be so much fun to go during a game, maybe even the WORLD SERIES!!! Sunday night I went back to my usual Bar Louie to watch the Cards win. Did I mention we are going to the WORLD SERIES now?
Another great weekend with so many stories. At the end of the weekend I thought, this doesn't get much better! Laughing, having fun with friends, and watching a great team win! Now if only I get another message!

We Are Cardinal Nation
October 7, 2011
I have suddenly become a raving fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Wow, who knew baseball could be so much fun to watch--and nerve-wracking. I started this weekend off by watching the Cardinals end Philly's season at Bar Louie with my friend Elizabeth. We showed up right at game time expecting a table. Of course, one of the most popular places, so why would we get a table? So, I decided to take action and ask a couple of people if we could share a table. We ended up making great friends and cheered our cardinals on to victory. We did meet a very cute boy, but no potential!
On Saturday, Amanda and I decided to pamper ourselves with manicure/pedicures. Then we visited the winery, followed by the pumpkin patch. It was a spur of the moment decision, but it was on the way home and Amanda needed to decorate her house. Amanda went to work while I took a nap! Later that evening we decided to eat dinner and a movie. Notice this is the middle of October and has been in the low 80s. You can't get much better than this.
On Sunday I met up with Cinnamon and Elizabeth for a show at Fox Theater, The Addams Family. I haven't ever watched the TV show, but it had a great plot and was very comical. Afterwards, we headed over to Bravo to catch the end of the game. The Cardinals didn't win, but I think it was because we didn't watch the whole game. Tonight, so far we are ahead on the Brewers 4-0, so I think I'll stay right where I am! Go Cards!

Still Eventful, but a Weekend Home
Sometimes it feels that you go, go, go and you never take a break. Most of this going I put on myself to try and stay busy. Then, you get something going every night and you just need a break. This past week for Cardinals fans has been exciting, but exhausting. After only a few hours of sleep on Wednesday, I needed a weekend to rest up (Cardinals won the wild card for playoffs on Wednesday).
Jordan gave me a call this week and mentioned coming over to St. Louis for an interview on Saturday morning. She drove in on Friday night just in time for Dewey's pizza!

Last Christmas my employees gave me a gift certificate for a spa day and I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet. So, Saturday morning I went to the spa and had a nice relaxing morning. After Jordan's interview was over we headed for lunch at the Boathouse before heading to my littles volleyball match. I was so happy Jordan got to meet them and they loved her! After the match, the girls came to the pumpkin patch with us. I don't ever remember going to the pumpkin patch when I was little, but we took a hay ride, went through a mini corn maze, and picked out our prize pumpkin! My camera battery ran out, but we took a few pictures with our phone. Everyone was tired afterward as the entire day was spent outside. We took the girls home and headed home for a quick snooze before eating dinner. One of Jordan's favorite places that was missed on her tour here was FroYo. There is a yogurt store very similar next to my house and they have vegan options.

Sunday we went to church then Jordan headed home. I got to play in a golf tournament with Amanda. It was a scramble and they partnered you up. I was partnered with Lew! We were a perfect match as I have been practicing my drives and he was a great putter. We finished 3rd and I even won longest drive at one of the holes! I know people are lining up now to be my partner! I'll keep wishing! I was pretty tired and ready for bed when I remembered the Cardinals game was on. Of course, you get hooked when we are making a comeback! We ended up winning the game 5-4, but another night I was up past 11:30!
It was a great weekend, but looking back I'm not sure how I rested up! There's always another day to rest.
