Clayton Art Fair

Saturday, September 10, 2011

The University of Phoenix had a booth at the Clayton Art Fair this past weekend in the Creative Arts Castle.  This is an area that is set up for kids who can participate in the art fair.  There are all kinds of art activities from paper hats, visors, pottery, coloring, and our booth recycled art.  We took newspaper and blended it up with water to create art!  It has been awhile since I have seen my Little's, Kendal and Kelsey, so I picked them up and took them to volunteer.  They ended up getting breakfast and free t-shirts!

The first St. Louis Bread Co, also known as Panera, started in Clayton, MO.  At this location they have a unique way to pay.  It is considered the community cafe where they give suggested prices.  They do not require anyone to pay, but if you can give more it helps someone else who couldn't afford for a meal.  Another great lesson for my Little's!

My Little's had a volleyball game that afternoon so I got to attend their game!  They didn't come away with a win, but those girls were energetic.  I loved being back in the gym and hearing all the volleyball cheers!  They were so excited I was there to watch them.  They introduced me to all the sixth graders as their Big Sister!

If you remember a post a few back it involved cupcakes.  This little delight came from a cafe in Chesterfield and I knew after church on Sunday I had to pay it a visit.  It's called VegaDeli and it didn't disappoint.  Everything in the store is vegan.  I ordered a Tex-Mex wrap and vanilla cupcakes with orange frosting!  Yummy!!!
