Seattle: Day 1

The last week of July is the perfect time to visit Seattle.   Right when Missouri's weather was soaring over 100 degrees, we escaped to the Northeast where the average temperature was in the 70s.  I met my Dad, Mom, and Jordan in the Denver airport and away we went for a family vacation.  I have been blessed with an amazing family and I love every chance I get to see them.  It was a much needed vacation to rest, eat, walk, and LAUGH.  I accomplished all of those daily and came back so refreshed.

We took the first flight out to Seattle and the adventure began.  We found the Link Light rail from the airport to our hotel in Downtown Seattle, Camlin.  Our hotel was in a perfect location to walk to all the tourist attractions.

Our first stop Nordstorms, which started in Seattle as a shoe store, for lunch!  After a terrific lunch, we headed to the famous Pike's Place Market.

There are so many booths of fresh flowers, fruit, and of course fish.  I have never been a fan of fish, smell or taste, but I did enjoy seeing the "circus" or what other fish booths called the individuals who threw the fish back and forth in front of the crowds.

We walked around back to Post Alley.  This is a famous brick gum wall right next to the Market Theater and was there a ton of gum.  Yummy, anyone up for a snack?

When in doubt, you should have a Starbucks in your hand!  I especially love the coupon that Starbucks gives if you order a drink before 2, you can have $2 off an iced drink after 2.  So make that, 2 Starbucks a day!  Here is where Starbucks all started and now there are over 117 Starbucks within a 5 mile radius of the original.

I would say this vacation is off to a great start!
